Is this emotional support safe if I’m still having seizures or auras?
Yes. Many of the people I support are still experiencing seizures, auras, or post seizure anxiety. The work I offer is gentle and designed to support your nervous system, not stimulate it.
Before we begin, I’ll ask a few simple questions about your condition and how your epilepsy affects you day to day. That way, I can adapt the pace and techniques to ensure everything we do is safe, respectful, and supportive for your system.
Do you have epilepsy yourself?
Yes. I’ve lived with epilepsy since infancy, and I’ve experienced seizures, brain surgery, daily auras, VNS treatment, and the emotional toll that comes with it all. What I offer is built on lived experience and deep understanding, not just training. I support you from a place of knowing what it’s like to carry the invisible weight of this condition.
Is this a type of therapy or counselling?
No. This is not therapy, and I’m not a licensed therapist. What I offer is emotional and nervous system support, a gentle way to help you release stress, feel safer in your body, and reduce emotional overwhelm. You don’t need to talk through your whole story. You don’t need a diagnosis to be here. This is about feeling supported, not analysed.
Will I have to talk about my trauma or past seizures?
You won’t be asked to relive trauma or go into painful detail, but yes, we will gently work with the emotions connected to what you’re experiencing now. That might include fear, anxiety, frustration, or anything your body is holding onto.
This isn’t about digging into the past. It’s about helping you feel calmer in the present, using proven techniques that work with your body and emotions together.

What if I can’t explain how I feel or don’t know what’s wrong?
That’s completely okay, and very common. Epilepsy often leaves people feeling foggy, anxious, or disconnected from their body. You don’t need to have the “right words.” This work meets you exactly where you are. We listen to your system together, without pressure or expectations.
Do I need to stop taking medication to do this?
Not at all. You should continue following your doctor or neurologist’s advice. The emotional support I offer is designed to complement your medical care, not replace it. It’s about supporting your nervous system and emotional wellbeing alongside whatever treatment you’re already using.
